Gautam Buddha was a spiritual teacher of ancient India. He was the founder of Buddhism. He is universally recognised by the Buddhists as the supreme Buddha of our age. Although the years of his birth and death are uncertain, most modern historians date his lifetime from 563 B.C. to 483 B.C. To the followers of Buddhism all living beings die to be reborn. The 'Jataka Tales' have beem written to describe the various stories of Buddha who lives many lives before he finally becomes the ' Buddha '. The Buddha has been given an animal from in the various stories.
The stories in the Jataka Tales are popular amongst the children as they inculcate in them the child-suited thinking and living besides spreading the message of unity, justice and wisdom. A sincere efforts has been made to make the stories interesting as well as informative for the children.
